The issue, which I believe necessitate changing, stems from the insufficiency of trust the colleges seem to maintain for the department. The Deans, and some capacity Councils (depending on the college), are the final approvers for the courses the IDD department create for each of these colleges. These individuals, who endure final approval, are experts in their field of work; however, concerning the estimate phase, aligning to topics and objectives while incorporating adult learning theories; my department has the control and knowhow. The IDD department works within a team up and abides by stringent processes ensuring that the course description, topics, and objectives are consistent lengthwise development and design of the course.
